A Message From Our President!
January 2012
Happy
New Year to all. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with
friends and family.
The New Year is always a time of reflection, as
we evaluate our past year and look forward to better things for the
New Year. Looking forward, beyond the personal level, we, as members
of the Art Alliance of the Riverside Art Museum, must now take a
deep look at our role in the future of the museum.
We are all feeling and seeing the results of
the economic downturn. We are aware of the effects of the global
happenings in our lives and the lives of others. The museum is no
exception. In fact non- profits feel the pinch even more. Since it
is the mission of the Art Alliance to support RAM, we each must work
a little harder this year to achieve our goals. We all need to
contribute our ideas, our talents, our opinions, and our time.
The old “it takes a village” certainly applies here today.
Thank you to those who have worked so hard
already this year. The art is coming “off the wall ,” ending this
year’s sale and the Holiday Luncheon was again a great success.
Special thanks to Sue S, Ann D, Kathy B, Patti F, Kathi F and all
our other wonderful volunteers.
This new year we move to our festive Spring
Project. It will be an art studio tour plus a gala evening
celebrating Julia Morgan and our historically significant building.
We are also planning to launch an exciting project for fall.
We will begin work on it very soon and we will need lots of
volunteers. Stay tuned for the particulars, because I know you
will all be delighted to hear what we have in mind.
Please dig deep and give us your time and
energies in support of these two projects. Our museum needs
you now, and our community needs the museum. Once again, happy
2012, and I look forward to exciting collaborations with all of you
in the coming year,
Judy F
