Save the Date!

The Art Alliance Spring Project will be Saturday, April 28. You’ll start the day with an artist studio tour. Artists will be working and discussing their work, techniques, etc.

Then join us that evening for a gala at the beautiful Riverside Art Museum. We will be celebrating the work of Julia Morgan, architect of the art museum and many other buildings including Hearst Castle.

It is not too late to join our committee. Help us put together an educational, entertaining and fun day that benefits the museum.

 2011 OFF THE WALL

 Off the Wall, Jr.  &  Art & Sole

WOW! We did it again!! Thank you one and all for all your help,
encouragement and enthusiasm for our 8th annual Off the Wall Event!

As always, our volunteers were amazing and I have had many comments and words of praise and thanks from both the public and our artists for the help and enthusiasm shown by all.

We had a Great turnout – 226 artists (155 RAM members) submitted 836 works of art – and we sold 166 works. Unfortunately the trend shown last year continued and our sales were significantly lower than previous years. A final accounting should be available in the next few days and I will present a final financial accounting at the membership meeting in January.

I would like to thank our sponsors who make if possible for us to present our event and to everyone who participated with their time and talents. I would also like to give a "shout out" to our outside groups who jumped in to help with install. 

The Art & Sole shoes were a fun addition and over half of them sold. Off the Wall, Jr. had over 20 sales and our Jr. artists are all very excited to have participated.

The committee has been discussing the good, the bad, the successes and the misses of our event this year – and has made a recommendation to the Art Alliance Board to put our Off the Wall event on "hiatus" for at least the next year in hopes that the economy will strengthen. Stay tuned for further announcements for our next fall project.
