Riverside Banner ARTventure

The biggest outdoor art exhibit and fundraiser ever held in Riverside is set to begin!

What is the Riverside Banner ARTventure?
The ‘Banner Project’ is a community event, an outdoor art exhibit and a fundraiser all rolled into one!  It will be the largest outdoor experience of artwork that Riverside has ever seen!  Over 300 banners, each created from an original work of art by local artists, will hang from city streetlights from the Downtown area to UCR to Arlington. Sponsors will have the opportunity to choose how many banners they wish to underwrite and on which work of art they wish to have their name attached.  Artists will have their artwork enlarged and placed on vinyl banners throughout the city.  In the spring there will be an exhibit of banner artwork and an art auction, the proceeds of which will go towards the programs of the non-profit Riverside Art Museum.

Who is organizing this?
The Art Alliance of the Riverside Art Museum - the same group that brought you the ‘Giant Oranges’--- is coordinating this event.  The Art Alliance is an organization of 200 members who focus on raising visibility as well as funds for the museum.

When will the Riverside Banner ARTventure take place and how long will it last?
The event will begin in March 2009, but sponsors and artists are being approached right now!  Artists must submit pieces for consideration by December 15, 2008, and sponsors will have a first-come-first-served chance to choose art, based on their entry as sponsors.  Banners will be visible throughout the spring and into the summer of 2009.

How do I go about sponsoring a banner?
Simply click on the link below and fill out the enclosed form in the packet, indicating the level of sponsorship and the locations in which you would be interested and we will be glad to follow up with you!  Read this packet!  There are many benefits to sponsoring, and we would love to have your participation!

Major Sponsor for Banner Project Announced!

We have passed the $15,000 mark in sponsorships

The Banner Committee is thrilled to announce the first $5,000 ‘Top Flier’ Sponsorship for the project—Olivewood Memorial Park! Olivewood Memorial Park, located on Central Avenue, has been a part of our community since 1888. There are many ways that they could advertise, but by being a part of the Riverside Banner ARTventure they are combining their advertising dollars with community outreach. Olivewood is an endowed, non-profit institution that established a foundation to operate the cemetery, but they still need to get their name out in the community to advertise their services! Hence their participation in our project!  We are so happy to announce their participation!

As a “Top Flier” Olivewood will have six banners to be distributed throughout the project!

Thank you to Jackie & Dale Smith and  Dan Brown
who helped secure this sponsorship!

How YOU*

Can Have Your Very Own Banner

for Just $216.60…

*and two friends!

Be a part of the banner fun, and sponsor your very own banner!

If you and two other Art Alliance friends each contributed $216 and change you could choose your own artwork from our pool of artists and place that banner in any of three city locations!  Best of all, it assures the success of the project, which needs 100 banner sponsors to create a one-of-a-kind show!

Please get two friends together and be a part of this exciting endeavor!

Call Kathy Allavie and she will explain how it works!
