Canstruction® Riverside 2007!
1st Annual Event held on April 26, 2007

CANSTRUCTION® combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people.  Competing teams, led by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods.  At the close of the exhibition all of the food used in the structures was donated to The Second Harvest Food Bank of Riverside.

It started with one can.  To feed the hungry.  To lift the spirit.  To change the world.  Canstruction®, a charity committed to ending hunger, is using ‘one can’ as a catalyst for change.  Canstruction’s Design/Build Competition puts a visual spotlight on hunger while showcasing Riverside’s design community’s best and brightest.

Five teams were chosen to compete in our Canstruction® competition!  They designed and built structures made of nothing more than canned food, ingenuity, and luck!  By  entering into this competition they are helping to stop hunger!  One can!

Canstruction® is a project of the Art Alliance of the Riverside Art Museum under the auspices of The Society for Design Administration.  All money raised from Canstruction® benefited the Riverside Art Museum and all food collected from the show was donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
